Bringing People Together, One Coffee at a Time: Workplace Visits with CamperLatte

5 min read

There’s usually someone at work who’s first to ask, “Anyone fancy a coffee?”

Sometimes that means putting the kettle on. Sometimes it means taking everyone’s order and heading out with a list you’re hoping you won’t forget halfway there.

But how about having the coffee come to you?

Alongside our regular pitch in Hilsea, we offer CamperLatte workplace visits in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, bringing our retro VW coffee camper, freshly made drinks and friendly service to your team.

It’s a part of the business we’d love more people to know about. You don’t need to be organising a wedding or a big public event to book us. A working day and a team who would appreciate a good coffee are a lovely place to start.

A thank you doesn’t have to be complicated

There are plenty of reasons you might want to treat the people you work with.

Perhaps they’ve got through a particularly busy period, finished a project or put in extra effort when things haven’t gone quite to plan. Maybe you’re celebrating a business anniversary, welcoming new colleagues or planning a staff wellbeing day.

Or perhaps you just want to say thank you.

A coffee visit gives everyone something to look forward to without needing to arrange a whole day away from work. People can come over, choose their drink and enjoy a few minutes at the camper before getting back to their day.

We know workplaces can be busy and that getting everyone together at once isn’t always possible. We’re happy to talk through how a visit could fit around your team and their breaks.

A chance to catch up

It’s easy to spend a working day speaking to people only about the next job that needs doing.

Emails need answering, customers need looking after and there’s always something else waiting. Even when you work in the same building, you might not get much time to stop and chat.

Having the camper outside gives people a reason to step away for a few minutes. You can collect a coffee with a colleague, catch up with someone from another department or enjoy a little fresh air while your drink is being made.

We wouldn’t pretend a coffee solves every workplace problem. But a thoughtful gesture and a chance to take a break can still be a welcome part of someone’s day.

From our side of the hatch, that’s exactly the sort of visit we want to help you create: relaxed, friendly and easy to enjoy.

Something for the coffee lovers — and everyone else

Of course, every team has its different orders.

There’s the person who always wants an Americano, the one who loves a latte and the colleague who will happily add caramel to almost anything. There are also people who would much rather have a tea or hot chocolate, and we want them to feel included too.

Our drinks include barista-made coffees, teas and hot chocolates, with whole, oat and soya milk available.

When we plan your booking, we’ll agree which drinks and extras are included so you know what you’re offering your team. If there are any particular dietary requirements, let us know when you enquire so we can discuss them properly.

Nobody needs to be a coffee expert to order from us. If someone isn’t sure what they fancy, we’re always happy to have a chat and help them choose.

How can a workplace coffee visit work?

There are a few ways to arrange it, depending on your budget and what you have in mind.

You can treat the team to their drinks. We’ll discuss your numbers, serving time and the package that suits your visit, then put together a quote.

You can use prepaid drink tokens. These give you a set number of drinks to distribute among staff. Each token can be exchanged for one drink from the agreed selection, making it a straightforward way to plan what the business is covering.

You can ask about staff buying their own drinks. If you’d like to host the camper while colleagues pay individually, we can discuss whether that would work for your location and likely turnout. Any minimum spend or booking charge would be agreed beforehand.

You don’t need to have all of that decided before getting in touch. Tell us what you’re hoping to do, and we can talk you through the options.

Leave enough time to enjoy it

One thing we like to get right at the planning stage is the serving window.

Every drink is made to order, so we need to allow enough time for the number of people attending. A larger team arriving together will need a different plan from a small group coming out in stages.

If your workplace has staggered breaks, different shifts or a fixed lunch period, tell us about those when you enquire. That helps us suggest a realistic visit length and work out how to keep things moving.

We want people to have time to collect their drink without feeling that they’ve spent their whole break waiting for it.

Fancy something to go with the coffee?

If you’d like to include pastries or sweet treats, ask us about the options for your booking.

You might want to cover a drink and a treat for each person, or simply give staff the option to buy something extra themselves. We’ll agree the selection and arrangements with you in advance.

Our sweet treats also support a cause that matters to us: 25p from every sweet treat sold is donated to 4PAWS to help animals in need.

That includes treats sold as part of our coffee and treat deals. It’s something we’re pleased to carry into our working week, wherever we’re serving.

What do we need at your workplace?

The main things to think about are somewhere suitable to park and serve, along with clear access for the camper.

We prefer to plug into a suitable standard electricity socket, but our coffee machine is dual fuel, so we can run it on gas if needed. If you don’t have a socket nearby, just let us know when you enquire and we’ll talk through the setup with you.

We also need time to prepare before serving starts — normally around 45–60 minutes. If you want the first coffees ready for a particular break time, we’ll arrange our arrival around that.

A quick description of your site, and a photo if you have one, can help us understand the space. There’s no need to have everything worked out yourself; we can go through the practical details together.

More than a one-off staff treat

A workplace visit could also fit into a customer open day, a launch, a training day or a business celebration.

The camper gives people somewhere to head for a drink and adds a friendly, informal touch to the occasion. For us, it’s another chance to take CamperLatte out into the community and meet people who might not usually visit our Hilsea pitch.

We’re a small business ourselves, so we appreciate the thought that goes into organising something for your team. We want the booking process to feel clear and personal, with the important details agreed before the day arrives.

Shall we bring the coffee to you?

If you’ve been thinking about doing something for your staff, we’d love to hear from you.

Let us know where you’re based, your preferred date, roughly how many people you’d like us to serve and what sort of visit you have in mind. We’ll talk through availability, the practical arrangements and a quote.

You can get in touch through our website or send us a message.

And if you’re reading this thinking your workplace could do with a CamperLatte visit, feel free to pass it on to the person who organises the staff treats. That’s a hint we’re very happy to help with! ☕💛
